The Deep Blue

This piece was inspired by the many hours I've spent sitting on the beach watching the ocean, speculating about its depth and the creatures that live within its confines. Upon close inspection you can see a few of those inhabitants.

The final finish on this piece, shown below, is a pigmented shellac burned onto the surface of the encaustic paint.

 This piece was juried into the  Sand & Sea Art Exhibition at the Arts on Granada gallery in Ormond Beach, Florida back in August 2019.
